Disability Access

As ACAA Accredited Disability Access Consultants we are committed to provide practical design solutions for barrier free access to all premises. 

 Our Disability Access Consultancy services include:

  • Access Reports for DA (Development Application), CC (Construction Certificate) and CDC (Complying Development)
  • Adaptable Housing reports as per the requirements of AS4299
  • Site audits of existing buildings and assessment of the ‘affected part’ works.
  • SEPP Senior Living and People with Disability reports
  • Post construction site audits and reports for OC (Occupation Certificate)
  • Silver, Gold and Platinum level Livable Housing assessments
  • NDIS SDA (Specialist Disability Accommodation) assessments

Disability Discrimination Action Plans

The Disability Discrimination Act 1992 (DDA) is a part of Commonwealth legislation which requires that people with disabilities be given equal opportunity to participate in and contribute to the full range of activities. Access for people with disabilities, including access to the goods, services and facilities is required to be provided by businesses. In implementing a DDA Action Plan, in conjunction with an Accredited Access Consultant your business and the community as a whole will benefit significantly and it will enhance the image of your business.


Performance Solutions under the BCA

We provide Performance Solutions (previously called Alternative Solutions) for Access related works under the Building Code of Australia by means of Expert Judgment.

Public Domain Manuals

We provide a review service for Public Domain Manuals. We have completed a review of the Kingswood Public Domain Manual for Penrith City Council.

Access and Mobility Maps

We provide site access audit services to prepare Access and Mobility Maps. We have assisted with the Penrith City Access Mobility map for Penrith City Council.

Research projects

We have recently participated in research into Accessible facilities- Accessible toilets- for the NSW Department of Family and Community Services. The research project formed a part of the National Disability Strategy NSW Implementation Plan 2012 – 2014 (NSW plan). The NSW plan identifies six key priority areas. This research project fits under the first priority area; Inclusive and Accessible Communities.

Expert Witness

We have acted as an Expert Witness for Disability Access related matters for the Land and Environment Court on multiple occasions.

We have provided Access reports for projects to the following Councils:
