LHA Edition 4 download linkLivable Housing Australia (LHA) is a not-for-profit organisation established to promote the benefits of Livable housing design to the residential design and construction industry. LHA is a partnership between industry, community and consumer groups and governments. A Home designed under the Livable Housing Guidelines incorporates key features that aim to make a dwelling easier and safer to live in for all occupants including people with disability, ageing population, people with temporary injuries and families with young children.

The Livable Housing Guidelines describe 15 living design elements. The performance levels can be applied to all newly built and renovated detached and semi-detached houses, terraces and townhouses and apartment dwellings.

Your project can be certified by LHA to Silver, Gold or Platinum Status. Assessment can be done at the design and as-built stages of the development. NDIS Specialist Disability Accomodations assessment via the SDA Price Guide assessment route require compliance with either Silver or Platinum level of LHA Design Guidelines. Click here to download a free copy of the guidelines document.
